September Pitch Challenge (Grades K-12)

PCSD Connects will be hosting Virtual Pitch Contests for the months of September, October and November.  

Each month we will select a winner from the following Grade bands:

K-4 Division

5-8 Division

9-12 Division

The winner of each division will receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card.  We will then place the names of all of the other participants together and have a random drawing for a $50 Amazon Gift Card.

September Pitch Challenge: Business Idea

PCSD Connects is hosting a Pitch Challenge for students in grades K-12, for the month of September students will identify a problem or need that can be solved through the creation of a product or service.  The purpose of the pitch challenge is to engage students in instilling life skills in a fun way, communication is an important skill to have once you join the workforce, it is never to early to start practicing!  

What is a pitch? An elevator pitch is a brief, concise, and enthusiastic explanation of what your idea is or what your business does.  It should spark interest, be compelling, persuasive, and most importantly, memorable in some way.  Complete the steps below to participate in the pitch challenge!

Step 1: Complete the worksheets below to to identify a problem or need, think about your skills and resources, create a business idea, organize thoughts to create your pitch, and put it all together!

Step 2: Once you have completed the worksheets and have your elevator pitch created you will now want to make a video recording of you pitching your idea.  Using a phone, computer, or I-Pad you will create a 30-90 second video pitching your idea or business.  You may need to ask a parent/guardian, sibling, or friend to help you out in recording your pitch.  Record it a few times if needed to get it how you want it! 

Step 3: Once you have your video recorded you want to save it to the device you were using to record and visit www.pcsdconnects.org and go to the virtual challenge page.  (This Page)

Step 4: Submit your video to PCSD Connects using the submission button below.  Submission deadline for the September Pitch Challenge is Friday, October 2, 2020.

October Pitch Challenge (Grades K-12)

October Pitch Challenge: Fundraising Pitch

Step 1: Identify an organization or cause that is important to you that gets money through fundraising or donations, for example the American Cancer Society who is dedicated to researching and eliminating cancer.

Step 2: Create a pitch to encourage people to donate to the cause that you are supporting and why they should consider it.

Step 3: Create a video between 45 and 75 seconds in length explaining your cause and how peoples donations can help a problem that we face.

Step 4: Submit your video to PCSD Connects using the submission button below.  Submission deadline for the November Pitch Challenge is Friday, October 23, 2020.

November Pitch Challenge (Grades K-12)

November Pitch Challenge: Online Educational Application or Platform

Step 1: Identify a problem that students or educators might face with teaching students online.

Step 2: Think of a business opportunity that would make online teaching and learning easier for students, teachers, or parents.

Step 3: Create a video between 45 and 75 seconds in length explaining your product/service and how it is a solution to the identified problem.

Step 4: Submit your video to PCSD Connects using the submission button below.  Submission deadline for the November Pitch Challenge is Friday, November 20, 2020.

Second Quarter: Stock Market Challenge (Grades 4-12)

Registration Information will be released late October

Third Quarter: Young Entrepreneurs Day (Grades 2-8)
